“9 Yards, 2 Geniuses, and 1 Clumsy Model!”

So it was one of those crisp, golden autumn mornings when the world looks like it’s been filtered through honey. We’d just wrapped up a sweaty but super-fun dance practice with Sujatha — full of dramatic moves, chaotic steps, and some serious “Bollywood-meets-gym” vibes.

That’s when Apeksha and Jaydeep dropped their brilliant plan:
“Let’s do a photoshoot!”

Now, I’m not one to say no to free glamour, so of course, I volunteered as tribute — I mean, as the subject.

Enter: The Saree Stylist Extraordinaire

All I had to do was stand still, while Jaydeep, who I’m convinced was a costume designer in a past life .. worked his magic.
He took a plain old me and wrapped me in nine yards of Narayanpeth silk magic, complete with a stole made of khanache kapad that screamed heritage and elegance.

Jaydeep’s attention to detail is something else. He doesn’t just drape a saree; he sculpts it. And the tips he casually shared while doing so — tips I had clearly lived decades without knowing — were  enlightening  (Where were you all my life, Jaydeep?!)

Meanwhile, Apeksha — The Prop Queen

Now, if Jaydeep is the costume magician, Apeksha is the queen of colour, light, and drama.
She can look at a street corner and say, “Hmm, we need a rusty bell and a dried twig here.”
And that’s exactly what happened.

Soon, our little creative circus began parading through the leafy lanes of old Hatfield.

Apeksha marched ahead with a giant antique bell in one hand and her phone in the other.

I followed, draped in nine yards of elegance, struggling to walk, breathe, and not trip over myself — all while balancing heavy jewellery and the crushing pressure of pretending to be a model.

Jaydeep walked behind, carrying my stole, scarf, and my dignity — ready to catch me if (or when) I toppled.

“Look here. No, there. Now admire that old man’s walk”

The instructions were relentless. “Chin up. Now down. Look thoughtfully at the lamppost. No, not that lamppost. Pretend you’re fascinated by that man carrying a dried branch to the bin…”

Modelling, my friends, is hard work.

Just when we thought the ensemble was complete, Apeksha insisted I wear this massive necklace. Jaydeep and I both hated it. We protested. We sulked. But Apeksha wouldn’t budge.
And guess what? The photos with the necklace looked stunning. She was right...yet again! (Ugh, I hate it when that happens.)

The Afterglow

We wrapped up the shoot, exhausted but giddy, scrolling through the shots like we’d just finished a Vogue cover shoot. And honestly? It felt like we had.

Those pictures weren’t just photos — they were memories. They reminded me of traditions, laughter, and how much fun creativity can be when shared with people who truly get you.

So here’s to Apeksha and Jaydeep — the unstoppable creative duo.
Thank you for turning an ordinary autumn morning into a hilarious, glamorous, and unforgettable adventure.

Love you both. And seriously… consider taking this hobby professional. You’ve already got one loyal model ready — clumsy walk, dramatic poses and all.

Mwaah ...

_Starry Laughs_

_Starry Laughs_ My cousin, her friend Veena, and I went on a hill station adventure that felt like a breath of fresh air, literally. Girivan, nestled in the Sahyadri ranges, proved to be a tranquil escape from the crowded chaos of other popular hill stations. Veena, our gracious host, led us to her farmhouse, and the journey up the windy and uphill roads was an experience in itself. Finally reaching her house was like stumbling upon a hidden gem—a classic Spanish villa with bold yellow walls bordered in deep red, standing proudly amid lush greenery. Veena's garden resembled a botanical wonderland, featuring an assortment of trees, from mangoes to bayleaf, palm to bananas. It was a paradise where guava, jaam, amla, peppercorn, and betel leaf creepers coexisted in harmony, creating a serene and zen-like atmosphere. Our taste buds were treated to a culinary spread by Veena's talented housekeeper. Rustic chicken gravy, sautéed dried fish (बोंबील), bhakri, and warm इंद्रायणी भ...

आता कोनाचो नंबर!!

Panchak movie is nothing but a hilarious rollercoaster of cosmic chaos directed by Jayant Jathar and Rahul Awate. This cinematic movie explores the belief that if you kick the bucket at a cosmic 'oopsie-daisy moment', five more family members might join the celestial waiting list – unless you've got a to-do list of rituals handy . The filmmakers have  chosen a picturesque Kokan location to enhance the overall cinematic experience. It's a breathtaking setting! The lush greenery, coconut trees, serene sea ,rustic houses, and muddy paths create a visually stunning backdrop for the movie. The Malwani dialect used  adds a unique charm to it.The movie apart from ticking my funny bone did get me thinking about the various superstions we have in our culture . Picture this: the superstition of avoiding  'झाडू '(dusting) after sunset, as if dust bunnies turn into nocturnal creatures. And let's not forget the ritualistic consumption of 'dahi-shakkar' before ex...
